Where Does The Time Go???

I can't believe how quickly time is going by! My Luke will be 14 months old next week. He is growing up so fast and he amazes us everyday with all he knows and is learning! He talks nonstop (in his own language, of course) and he has lots and lots of energy. He doesn't meet a stranger and he loves to talk and smile at everyone. He can now entertain himself and its so cute to watch him play with his toys. It's crazy how fast he is growing and its sad that he isn't my little baby anymore. Luke is very determined and independent, but at the same time he is very loving and tender hearted. He loves to give Jason and me sweet hugs and kisses. He is officially off the bottle and he loves his sippy cups. He holds my finger and takes me to the frig when he is hungry or thirsty. He brings me his shoes when he wants to go outside. And he is now tall enough to open the doors. Which is cute, but now I have to keep them locked at all times or he will shoot out as fast as he can. He loves being outside and would stay out all day if I would let him. Jason and I are so proud of him and he brings us JOY everyday!!

We went for my 6 month check-up this morning! The baby is doing wonderful and I have been feeling great!!! He has definitely hit a growth spurt this past month and his kicks and movements have become really strong. At times, it feels like he his doing flips and cartwheels and its fun to sit and watch my belly bounce around!! We thank God everyday for this precious gift inside me!

It's getting close to moving in time! Things are wrapping up and we are thrilled with the house and can't wait to get in our new home and be on our own again. Hopefully we will be moving in the next couple of weeks!!!

5 Month Check-Up

Profile of Baby Kyser It's official, the new addition to the Kyser family will be a baby BOY!!! I went in yesterday for my 5 month check-up and ultrasound. We actually found out last week that its a boy during an ultrasound to check my cervix. Jason and I are super excited about having another baby boy. Now Luke will have a brother to play with and I'm sure they will be best of friends. The baby is doing great! The nurse looked at the his heart, stomach, kidneys, brain, spine, and blood vessels. She measured the baby and he weighs around 10 oz. It took awhile to get all the pictures for Dr. Shields because he was so active, but we enjoyed every minute watching our little one squirm and wiggle all around. Its so crazy to think that there is a baby growing inside me and seeing the ultrasound was a great reminder of how our baby boy is a miracle from God!
I also was given my first Progesterone shot. I was a little nervous about the shot because the liquid is super thick, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. It did sting pretty good going in and I'm sore today, but its not going to be that bad. The nurse showed Jason how to do everything and he still wants to give them to me. But he did say he would be nervous when next Thursday rolls around and its time to do it!!

Our Birthday Prince

Saturday we had a 1st B-day party for our little prince. What a great day!!! We had our families and a few close friends over to my parent's house to celebrate. The weather was gorgeous so the kids had a great time running around and playing outside. We ate tons of shrimp and crawfish and then lots of goodies that Nana made for the party. It was all delicious!!! Nana made Luke a blue cake with green polka dots and she even made a little cake just for him. Luke knew just what to do...he dug right in and enjoyed his cake! It was too cute!! Luke had soo much fun opening his gifts and he got so many great things! Luke had a blast and we couldn't of asked for a better day! We are blessed with such amazing family and friends!

To make the weekend even more special, we had Luke dedicated at church this Sunday morning. It meant so much to Jason and I to stand before our church and commit as parents to raise him in a Christian home, to teach him the Bible, and to pray for him daily. There is nothing more important to us than that. I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for our precious Luke!!

My baby boy turned 1 yesterday! I just can't believe that it has been a whole year since Luke was born and I got to hold him for the first time. Jason and I were talking about how fast the year has flown by and how much Luke has grown up especially in the last couple of months. We can't even imagine life without our baby Luke and having him makes us even more excited for the arrival of our new one. We are having Luke's b-day party this weekend, but we still wanted the day to be special for him. Jason had the day off work, so we took Luke to Toys r Us, which he loved. We went to lunch then to Party City to get a few supplies for his party. And of course I had to bake him a cake. Saturday he will get his "real" cake from his Nana, but he had to have one on his birthday too. We went over to my aunt and uncles house for hamburgers that night so we all sang and ate cake. Luke had a ball!!! I will post pics after his party on Saturday!

Check-Up

I went in yesterday for my four month check-up. I can't believe I have hit the four month mark!!! This pregnancy definitely seems to be going by much faster than last time. I can attribute that to Luke and the new house keeping me busy :) Dr. Shields says everything looks great!! She delivered Luke and I absolutely love having her as my doctor. She took great care of me when I preggo with Luke and I completely trust her. She did recommend that I get on weekly 17P (progesterone) shots. The shots have a high success rate in preventing preterm labor. I started having contractions with Luke at 6 months and delivered at 36 weeks, so she feels the shots will help. I'm not sure when I will start, but I will do anything and everything that she tells me! I can go in each week for the shot, or have someone give it to me at home. Jason said he is up for giving me the shots, but we will have to wait and see about that :)

The house is coming along great. Jason has finally finished the painting. He has worked so hard and he has done an excellent job!! The only thing left is the trim work, which we are just going to hire someone to come in and paint for us. The tile man should finish up his work the first of next week and then the hardwood will be put down. The electrician is working this weekend to get his part done. So things are coming together and I'm so happy with how the house is looking!! Just a few more weeks and we will be ready to move in!!!

Better Late Than Never!!

It's a late start, but I thought the timing was perfect to start this blog. What a great way to keep our family and friends up to date with life in the Kyser household!!

To catch everyone up...
Jason and I just celebrated our second anniversary on May 11!! What an amazing and exciting two years it has been. God blessed us with an our first baby boy, Luke, last May(who will be turing 1 on the 25th). What a joy he has brought to our lives! There will be an addition to the Kyser family in November. And yes, it was planned!! On top of our expanding family, we have been building a house over the last 8 months. We are super excited to be moving into our new home in the next few weeks!!
